I also bought some of the E2 version 4 megas thinking I'd see how improved they were over the old cartos.

Meh! I honestly was not impressed. I bought the 2.5 ohm. They do hold a good bit of juice but don't seem to wick it fast enough for a heavy vaper. After using for a few minutes I found myself missing my LR306 atty lol. I've revisited a couple times since and still....not terribly impressed.

I will say that I don't get the nasty filler taste which is a step in the right direction but I just don't think they've nailed these yet.

I think I may have been ripped off by a vendor selling me rev3 when they were advertised as rev4. But I don't know how to tell the difference. All I know is the new ones I just got have the burny taste and the other ones did not. Feel like I took a step backwards... I've written a note to the vendor, and surprise, surprise, he has not replied..... could I have hit a nerve?
I really feel like the oddball because I'm so happy with the rev4's. 2.5, 3.0 ohms, either worked fine, using either the eGo battery or a 14500, so two different voltages in essence. I really hope this guy did not pull a fast one on me... it will really make me leery to buy from sites. Bummer.....
Anyhow.... can't change what's happened.... Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving..... I know I have much to be thankful for..... all of my friends here for sure is at the top of the list..... Thank you for welcoming me into the community here..... It means so much to me....

I've heard the same complaints as you mention about the version 4. I think the revisions are so slight they aren't something you can see.

That very well may be true, Laurel. All I know is that the last order I got had that extra silicon washer on them and no protective caps on either end of the carto. They were in blister packs though. Prior orders came without the extra silicon "washer" and had endcaps and no burny taste whatsoever. It just seemed odd to me that they would start adding the silicon cover again, when they worked fine without it. Since the vendor still has yet to reply to my query, it makes me even more suspicious. I think he may have pulled a switcharoo on me and does not want to deal with me. I did check my past invoices online and every one said Rev4, so something is amiss.
I do not know what the proper protocol is in terms of mentioning the vendor if I do not get a satisfactory answer. I'm going to give the benefit of doubt since it is the Thanksgiving holiday season and wait several days. In the past he has always answered product inquiries within an hour. But I would like to know if I am allowed to mention the vendor so others do not get ripped off if indeed that is the case.
I truly hope this was some kind of mix up. I've never had any problems with vendors. Maybe I was just lucky. Who knows? But I am not a happy camper right now.
Maybe somebody can tell me this... did anyone buy any Rev3 Royal Smokers ceramics prior to the Rev4 coming out? If so, how were they packaged? Did they have the end caps and the washer?

You might do some searches on ECF, there might be pictures posted of packaging, etc of both versions. I never tried V3.

Great idea... Thanks... I will do that..... with that one thread about the ceramics that must be probably 100 pages by now, there has to be a reference to packaging somewhere in the thread...... This will be like cramming for a test in college....lol

Wonder if we could get a thread going with all the lot numbers and the supposed (and known) revisions (and from what vendor) and see if any clash... hrm :)

Slick... I can't seem to find a lot number on any of my packages.... only a "date of birth" and expiration date. From some extensive reading on ECF, if you get a pack of Rev. 4 with a black silicon mouthpiece, that could be the real McCoy. And.... there are supposed to be some changes coming down the pike... wouldn't mention the changes, but they are supposed to be for the better. Apparently, Rev4 will be the last Rev they make. That's the best I was able to understand about things.
That black mouthpiece takes some getting used to, but it can serve as the inner seal if it protrudes far enough into the tube down to the fill holes. I think that is the idea of them. They vaguely resemble a drip tip, but much different in design....much more tapered and very small end, maybe 1/4" diameter.

Hey guys... I have had great luck with the Ver. 4 and have had 0 issues... I use them with a drip tip and keep them wet. The trick is when you first start with them make sure you let them sit a while (full) before starting right in. Also make sure you inject right under 2ml of juice in the tube. I did have a bit of a funky taste (for a few toots) but i just kept dripping directly on the coil until it started working in. I have refilled mine more than 6 times and its still going strong.

Today (because of suggestions on ECF and other forums), they (Royal Smokers) announced the clearomizer and I have posted links on my blog here: http://centraltexasvapors.blogspot.com/ They have also "cleaned up" the foul taste as I have read this description on the ads.

We should see these new ones next year available from US vendors as soon as they get over the pond.

Over all I have been very impressed with the performance of this carto and look forward to trying the new "clear" form factor. Since I WAS going to try syringe/tube modding the 4 I have left.

Enjoy,
