E-2 Mega Cartomizers Help

Postby kevvp » November 23rd, 2010, 5:21 pm

I've been having horrible luck with these E-2 cartos. Every one I have tried works for about 10 minutes then I get this horrible burnt taste. Is there anything I can do to mod these things to actually work?

What rev do you have? The R4 is most current I believe. If you are using the XL's they sometimes have trouble keeping up if you are hitting on them hard. One thing that helps is to hold it more toward horizontal so the wick is better immersed in juice. The wick looks to me like a tied shoe lace... it sort of hangs down on each side of the post. You may have rec'd a batch with shorter wicks. I do know I had the same problem you describe with R3, but with R4 no problems at all with either length carto. Sorry I could not be of more help......

I've tried every "version" of the E2 carto's and,for me, they suck. I just can't understand how other people are getting them to work well. I use mods with a 18650 battery so I'm usually vaping at 4.2v and they just don't wick fast enough. They taste like crap! Back to the boges for me!

It's really interesting how we all have different experiences with the same device. I'm pleased as punch with the ceramics and others hate them. What is nice though is the great variety of devices we have to choose from.... at least we each can then find the one that does the trick for us. It's a wonderful hobby that seems to get better by the day. And I do like the Boges as well, I just find filling the ceramics so much less mess and time consuming. Ceramics forever!!!!! lol (no offense, Pete.... just teasing)

I just looked at a brand new box and the contents. There is nothing that indicates what rev they are. Best I can tell you is buy from a reputable dealer who should know what rev he/she is selling. You can not tell by looking at them what rev they are and that is a problem. This is where better labeling would be really nice. It's a leap of faith so to speak, but trusting your vendor is the best I can tell you. You may be able to go into your account history of the site where you purchased them and look at the invoice.... it should be indicated on the invoice I would hope. Or if you know the time frame in which you bought them, ask the vendor what rev they are..... I'm really sorry I can't be of more help than that.....

THE 3.0ohm probably would work better for you, but I think I've seen similar comments on those as well. If you haven't looked at the HUGE threads on ECF, you may want to invest a little (well, a lot, actually) time there reading them.

I haven't run into this problem but I'm using my XLs on automatic and manual 510s and KR808s.

Doesn't it seem odd that they dont have what version the cartos are printed on the packaging or something? I mean the originals came out what 2 months ago and they r allready on version 4? How about a little clarity so people are 100% aware of what they are buying?

I agree with you 100%, Jfully. The boxes need to be labeled better. Same with juice. I want to know what I'm inhaling. I understand this is a very new "hobby", but it only makes sense to let people know what they are getting or have in their hands. And this business with ohms..... my gosh... I've used 2.5, 3.0, and probably other values all with the same results. I think what sets these cartos apart is the coil. Just look at the size of it. It's only maybe 4 or 5 winds. And it is durable.
SudokuGal's advice to look on ECF is a wise move. But, be prepared for a nights reading and probably the next day as well. There is lots of info as well as "noise" that makes it hard to separate fiction from fact. Everyone has to have their say even if it is useless...lol.
Keep at it and I'm sure you will be able to figure out the rev you have..... I still think going back to the vendor is your best chance for an answer.....
