Joye eGO cart mod

Postby quehouse » January 16th, 2011, 8:48 pm

I saw this on another forum and tried it out 3 days ago. As the subject says I have a Joye eGO steel. Not the classic ego though I can't see why it wouldn't work with this model.
You pull the filler out of the cartridge and and cut it in to about a half inch in length. Drop 12 to 16 drops right in the cartridge and then reinsert the smaller piece of filler. Leave the filler fluffed up a bit over the top of the cart.Add a couple of drops of juice and insert cartridge into atomizer. The atomizer will tamp down the filler to where it should be. And then Vape away!
You may have to experiment with the filler amount ( + or - half inch). I have zero leakage and don't have to top up the cart anywhere near as much. I take the filler out at night and just pat it clean with a paper towel. It comes out white andfluffy. I have tried some of the other mods and I like this the best because it follows the kiss method. Those are usually the best ones. No cutting straws or inserting springs.

I would but am long past cart mods. However, I was a faithful to the straw cart mod, used it for nearly 10 months. They converted me to dripping now, so it is all I do. This will be beneficial to some out there, though.

I feel the same way carts became such a pain in the arse that I started dripping. I use cartos too but I'd rather drip tbh.

I tried a gazillion cart mods when I first started, different fillers, straws, teabags. Oh hell I don't miss those days!

Most of the long term vapers I know either drip with drip tips, use juice fed mods or have found a cartomizer that they like. Those cartridges just don't deliver liquid like some of the newer stuff that has come out in the last year or so. I literally threw away a crap load of cartridges because to me they are obsolete. I did save some filled ones to let new folks try if they wanted a test puff but for regular vaping... Things have evolved a bit.

Have you tried drip tips and dripping?? I resisted dripping for about 9 months and now wonder what the heck I was thinking lol. If I was on the road driving a lot I'd get a juice delivery box like the Reo or use cartomizers but I adore the taste, ease of dripping now. Why did I wait so damn long lol.

I am new to vapeing. I think I have a "drip tip" with my eGo kit. It looks like a round, open cartridge. But I am not sure what to do. Could you possibly explain the procedure step by step

Oh man! Yes, I would love too. The cartridge is meant to hold a little liquid in the sponge or whatever mod you use but most of us were constantly topping up our cartridges. Then came drip tips

You take the cartridge off your atomizer and set aside. Push drip tip into atomizer. Plug atomizer into battery. If atomizer is DRY you might need 5-6 drops and wait a minute for the wicking to absorb liquid. If the atomizer has already been in use you might add 2 or 3 drops. Then you vape until you taste that harsh puff signaling you need juice. It takes a teeny bit of learning but you soon know when you need to drip a few more drops.

If you drip too much it can leak out the atomizer connection so you'd need to wipe everything down. Someone else will have to chime in on how many drops a 510 holds. I use LR306's and 2-3 drops is what I use.

I figure if I drip and vape it up or even drip/vape it up twice that constitutes a 'smoke break' lol. If you are a chain vaper or driving a bunch dripping might not be good for you but nice at home. Best part of dripping is that it's easy to switch flavors. After a few puffs and pulls the old flavors out and you taste the new flavor without filling a cartridge up.

You holler if you get stuck. Many of us have been where you are. Some of us in our second year of vaping and equipment has evolved rapidly...plus we've learned a few tricks along the way. Lots of folks happy to help answer any questions you guys might come up with :)

Laurel, I tried the drip method. I am convinced! Cartridges are for driving. Thanks so much for the simple explanation. I'm a happy Canuck!
