O.k. mark for time, using a Blackberry mini-USB wall wart to charge it 5V 500mA rated. Just plugged the dead pack in and unplugged the standby Tekkeon ;-).

Hrmm just realized I may not be around to see when it's done, probably a couple hours though.

Just wanted to add here, Nuck pointed this out to me.

This isn't any special level of vape, it performs like a decently working 808. This isn't clouds of vapor type vaping, though worked well enough for me. Pretty sure this is limited at 1A output. The boosters in the FP and Tek mods are a world different in performance.

This outperforms the 14500 by itself on the BB with the 510 by far. With the 808, same thing. But not in the territory of the new mods.

I may mod my spare pack to play with it and see how that compares.

Nice, thanks for the reports. I'm going to have to allocate some cash to getting one of these battery packs and playing around with em.

O.k. so another update.

So I'm sure the Tekkeon as stock is current limited. It provides a lot of use with a USB PT BB hooked right to it, but it definitely isn't what I would have figured is the "5V experience" in using it...though I still feel it's a slight bump up from a 14500, if for nothing but the fact it feels like a fresh out of the charger 14500 for a few days at a time.

The way I figured this out is that I remembered I had a lab bench power supply sitting in the dust in my evil scientist closet.

I present to you, the latest in high tech mods.

What this old clunker lets me do is 0-30V and up to 3A current (though I'm not sure the old mare is capable much over 2A right now).

Plugging in at 4.5V using an 808 carto, the PT can pull about 1.6A and the difference vs plugging into the stock Tekkeon is night and day. I can finally get some decent vape from the 510 atty and carto that I have too, by running up to 5.5V or so with them pulling about 2A (I'm thinking I have crappy 510's frankly as this is too high to make sense to me).

The flavor at 4.5V with some current behind it is night and day better, plenty of vapor, not harsh or too hot. Others have said this is a great sweet spot as well for the 808 and now I see why. Running up to 5V and more just makes it get harsh.

A bench supply isn't anything I'd recommend to people to buy, but if you are a mod tinkerer, I highly recommend playing with one. You can dial in your exact sweet spot for your own habits and build a mod circuit around the specs you derive.

This old pig that I have was I think $25 shipped on ebay. If you sit around and wait for one, you can get a deal...this is cheaper than the Radio Shack wall adapter people like to play with and has metering that shows you exactly what you are doing for voltage and current.
