another atty care question

Postby funtobefemale » October 21st, 2011, 6:46 pm

So, each day when I'm finished using my atty, should I blow it out or is it ok to just leave the little bit of juice left in it?

There's probably different answers to this. I can only tell you what I do and my results. When I'm done with dripping a particular flavor that I know I wont be using again for a while, I drop the atty in 91% isopropyl overnight (If I plan on using the same juice the next day I don't clean it out - it's fine to leave the juice in there). The next day I blow out the excess alcohol and then leave the atty under my desklamp to dry for the rest of the day. I've only ever lost one atty, and that was one of my oldest ones that I burned up putting it on a high-powered 5v mod. Every other atty I've ever bought is still working using this method.

wow. i get nervous about leaving in alcohol over night. although I use PGA. idk if that's better or not. I usually just leave the flavor in there, but I'm not sure if that would hurt the atty or not. thanks for your tip !

Nothing to worry about using the alcohol as long as you let them dry COMPLETELY before using them again. It will all evaporate. Just don't rush to use them before they're dry, you don't want to be inhaling isopropyl fumes. The lamp I put mine under speeds up the evaporation...usually only takes a couple hours but I let them sit overnight just to be sure and they're bone dry.

If it makes you feel any better, I soak all my vaping gear in alcohol - for one it cleans everything really well and doesn't leave any residue, and two it's an antiseptic (think about your drip tips and the germs that collect on them). My attys, tanks, syringes, drip tips, etc all go into an isopropyl bath to soak. Metal, silicone, rubber, delrin, SS, plastic - I've used alcohol on all of it since I started vaping and have had no issues.

lol.. I use Everclear too and have never had a problem... in 2.5 years using it.

When I bought the Everclear bottle the clerk looked at me and said looks like someone is having a party  He looked horrified when I told him it was for cleaning purposes ROFL!!
