Images won't load

Sorry Linda. I haven't used IE in years. Try these fixes.

If the Show Pictures option in Internet Explorer is turned off, you won't see pictures on a webpage. Here's how to make sure it's turned on:

1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Scroll to the Multimedia section, and then select the Show Pictures check box.
5. Click OK.

Internet Explorer security settings can disable some programs, such as Adobe Flash or QuickTime, that are used by websites to display pictures or media. Typically, when you need a program to display pictures, you'll also receive a message identifying the program that is required. (If pictures that don't need other programs aren't displaying, either, then the program might not be the problem.) To reset Internet Explorer to the default security settings and allow these programs to run, follow these steps:

1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
3. Click the Security tab, and then click Default Level.
4. Click OK.


Also, make sure you have Flash installed.

The issue has to do with "Compatibility Mode/Standards Mode" in IE9. I first thought it might be what you stated above, but after looking at the issue, it doesn't. Although, updating Adobe Flash is never a bad thing, it has nothing to do with the images not showing up.

I wouldn't recommend changing any of the security settings from default at this point. Best bet is to just turn ON compatibility mode (by clicking that broken page icon in the address bar to the right of where you type the address in). It should go from grey to blue.

Let me know if you still have issues, SudokuGal. I'll be sure to update this thread with any information as I receive it.

FIrefox man... windows is history here lol. Hope you get it fixed Linda! I gave up on IE many moons ago. Firefox is great and free.

hmmmm lets see...

You're using IE9?
There is a 'broken page' icon in the address bar, right next to the 'reload' and 'cancel' buttons that you can click to get the images to load.

I'll keep looking into this to figure out why IE hates the internet so much and hopefully fix it so you don't have to do this.

Well, I'm attempting to fix this issue for good but we seem to be having some issues.

Sorry about the 500 (blank page) issues, hopefully they won't continue.
