Cartomizer Punch from vipvaporcig.com

Postby Pete54 » November 2nd, 2011, 9:56 pm

I just received this Cartomizer Punch from http://www.vipvaporcig.com/accessories/ ... punch.html If you've ever had problems punching holes in a carto, this device solves those problems, but at a price. At a cost of $40.00 it's probably not for everyone but you can't find a device that does a better, more consistent job than this. The adjustable locking side screw makes sure every hole is exactly where you want it and the carbide tip screw pierces the carto like butter! I've included a close up of the screw itself so that you can see how sharp it is and how short the taper is, allowing you to adjust the size of your hole with less than a full turn!

Once the screw come in contact with the carto, two full 360 degree turns of the provided Allen wrench produces a small hole. It requires very little strength to turn so even someone with arthritic hands should have no problem.
Two and a half turns produces a hole this size, which I find perfect.
Image
Three full turns produced a hole that was much too large, as I found out on my first attempt! Image
That's about it folks. For less than the cost of a new tank you can have perfectly punched holes in your cartos!

Just take note that once the point contacts the carto, anything more than 2 1/2 full turns might be too much!

Impressive piece of kit there. I'm new to 510 carto tanks, so far everything you told me about them was spot on. thanks.

Just ordered one as well. I hope it works better than the saddle valve.

You will be shocked at how well it works. Nothing like the saddle valve.

I agree! Using this has made punching my cartos so much easier. My attempt at using the saddle valve was a complete waste of time and money. The dremel worked, but was a hassle. This carto punch may sound expensive, but it works very well. It is well built and should last forever.

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but now that you guys have had this punch for a while, how has it held up? Any issues with the tip getting dull? I've been considering getting one lately but dont want to get one that'll wear out in a few months

Will they sell u one? My screw broke after a year so I think that's good. Also it broke right after my roommate used it so I think he was applying unnecessary pressure to it
