Jonboyusmc's Tank Mod

Postby Pete54 » May 31st, 2011, 8:28 pm

I just received two new tanks from jonboyusmc over at ECF. Here is a link to the thread. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modder-accessories-supplier-forum/178535-jonboyusmcs-ce2-tank-mods.html
Check out his pics on page 13 post 122.

These things are build like a real TANK. Here is what you receive if you get the kit. Use the long tube for XL CE2's and the short tube for regular CE2's.

Putting the cut CE2 into the base is tough. It's a very tight fit that requires you to hammer it in using a wood dowel or similar object. I used a small screw driver, handle end on the E2. While that's difficult, it's totally worth it for the following reasons.
1) It WILL NOT LEAK
2) An E2 carto lasts for months!

It is wider than a MAP Tank. Just a hair under 1". It would fit flush with a Silver Bullet but is a bit wider than my Provari. While it would look a bit better if it were a bit narrower on my Provari, I still much prefer this tank to anything I have EVER used. The small tube easily fits almost 4ml and it's built so strong that I could literally drive my car over it and it wouldn't break.

It's easy enough to refill. Just remove the top cap, fill and put it back on. I am amazed at how well made this is.

I've "moved on" @ ecf. Is that thread the only way to order? I like my maptank, but cleaning & re-filling is a pain. Plus, not all my dt's fit. None of my whistle-tips fit, I only have 2 dt's that snap in. Any dt issues with this one?

And how easy does the top come off for re-filling? I would hope it's a bit tough to remove, not wanting it to leak while it's together.

Here his OP on ecf, JK. I sent him a pm asking if he would register here, or pm me the info to pass on.

OK, I've had few PM's to make some more of my tank mods. I'm going to post up a couple of sample pics and if there is enough interest, I'll order up some materials and get to work.
Those that don't know me, I am a master toolmaker with over 25 years of machining experience. My tanks are made with top food-grade delrin end caps, and thick walled lexan tubing. They are also 100% CNC machined, to very tight tolerances. I tried to design these to be indestructible and completely user serviceable.
These ARE a mod, and with that said, it does take a few tools and a little mechanical experience to change the cartridge. They are a TIGHT fit, to keep them leak free. I'll say that again, they are a TIGHT fit.

Here's some pics. The new ones will have the top cap like the one in picture #2. The one in pic number 2 is stainless steel and not for sale. That's my personal tank, and she's a one of a kind. The next batch will be made with the top cap, that will accept any drip tip you care to put on it. This also gives you the option to fill with a syringe. I don't supply drip tips, since there are so many cool ones to choose from out there.

I sell these for $35 shipped. Like I said if there's enough interest, I'll go ahead and make 30 or 40. Send me a PM, or reply to this thread if you're interested.

Thanks for taking the time to look,
Jon

The top comes off easy but not too easy. No problem really. All the drip tips I have snap right in. I don't have any whistle tips so I can't say anything about them. Look, I love (loved) my MAP Tanks but this is built MUCH stronger. It is wider than a MAP but that allows the small version to hold a lot of juice. I really didn't even want the long tube but he wasn't selling them alone, only as part of the kit. Also, the price ($35 for the first kit, $30 for each additional kit) is a steal when you see how they're made.
