Utah bill (HB0170) that was to ban electronic cigarettes was just voted on and the result was, "no", 8 to 4.

9 This bill amends the Uniform Driver License Act, provisions relating to the state
10 system of public education, the Utah Criminal Code, and the Utah Code of Criminal

12 product and to place prohibitions and restrictions on the provision, obtaining, and
13 possession of a nicotine product.

Omg, so happy to hear this.

I'm hoping there will be many more success stories to follow this as this industry keeps expanding. Adults are fed up with being nannied by government and those who thrive on controlling the lives of others. Though the government is only interested in the revenue aspect whereas the control freaks need therapy sessions, most of which probably already have personal shrinks and weekly appointments.

I think all the emails, letters, faxes and phone calls are paying off people. More states to go but I feel like we all are an army growing, ready to respond to these nanny state threats.

Yeah, listening to the live audio was pretty shocking. There are some opponents to vaping that have absolutely no clue.

Now it's just up to the Governor for his signature. Since he's merely a puppet begging for re-election, he won't dare go against his masters.

This bill is a little over a year old with no update since July of last year. But both of these bills were proposed amendments to the indoor clean air act.

Here is the most recent revision of the bill. This is now the 3d revision, apparently the first two were shot down. This one isn't trying to ban them, rather ban use in an indoor/public place:

HB245 was voted on and passed the senate chambers today on the final reading. I ask EVERYONE to tag Gary R Herbert in posts asking him to veto this bill when it is put on his desk for signature. Folks this is the LAST opportunity we have to fight this bill. If this is signed into law, it defines ecigs the same as tobacco cigs. This means further legislation may be introduced banning usage not just in restaurants and bars like this bill but also in all outdoor space and anywhere else they damned well please. PLEASE write to Gary R Herbert and ask him to be a leader and veto this bill.

FYI: Phone calls, paper letters and faxes get more weight (in that order) than emails.
