leaky cartomizer?

Postby funtobefemale » September 6th, 2011, 9:53 pm

One of my cartomizers that I JUST opened only seems to be able to hold 4 drops of my coconut ejuice before it starts leaking. :( my other ones can hold like 10-15.. is this like a faulty carto?

If it was empty it should surely hold more than four drops. Some liquids need time to soak into the filler and you can leave that bottom plug in while it is soaking. If it still leaks - I'd guess it might be a dud. I don't use or care for cartos so... don't have better answer I'm afraid.

Cartomizers are great for convenience and yes...they can be bought cheaper. I like atomizers with a drip tip as that provides you with the truest flavor in my opinion.

Every carto I've tried didn't taste as good as dripping and I really don't mind dripping... I'm a professional dripper now. However most people that I know that used to use atomizers/drip tips are now using either some sort of tank or cartomizer. I guess I am just stubborn and don't do change well ROFL!!!

lol.. there is no filter in ecigs - no tar to catch ROFL!

The cartos have filler which holds some ejuice so you aren't having to constantly add juice. Back in the old days we had atomizers with cartridges that were basically a teeny, tiny sponge to hold a few drops. Then drip tips came along and some of us ditched the cartridges and went to direct dripping. You drip a few drops, you vape it...then repeat. There is no filler to hold extra juice, just what the wick holds.

I would not recommend dripping and driving though lol. If you drip juice on an atty and vape you get a flavor that is unmarred by fillers, etc. Truly a great flavor experience in my opinion but... I understand most people want to vape without needing to add juice constantly. I'm just spoiled by dripping so I'm still doing it though cartos have much improved and now there are a gazillion tanks on the market. Something for everyone's needs/wants I think.

I think it tends to be a personal preference thing really. Some folks hate dripping all the time and juice delivery is their thing. Cartos and tanks help with that. Others are after the pure flavors that attys provide. All personal preference in my honest opinion.

I was getting 3-4 good vaping weeks out of the Cisco LR306's I was using for over a year. I'm now testing a HH.357 and it's well over a month still going strong but I wouldn't steer you to one just yet as they're new and pricey lol.

You might try an atomizer/drip tip to see what you think. I'd say either an LR306 or LR510 would be a good place to get your feet wet.

Keep them wet = you won't burn them and they last longer. I'm now cleaning mine with alcohol as recommended by the mfgr and... it is doing very well helping the atty keep performance up. I soak it in Everclear or Vodka, blow out excess and add juice. Takes a bit of puffing before they spring back to life. People use similar methods to clean cartomizers too so they can re-use longer.
