Paper Towels

Postby horton » August 30th, 2010, 6:36 pm

I hope I am putting this in the proper section. When I first got involved with e-cigs, someone asked me how many paper towels I go through in a day. I gave some flip answer most likely. But I got to thinking this morning how many towels I actually do use and wanted to let peeps know about what kind of towels I use and how I think they are saving me money. I found Viva "Choose-A-Size" towels at Wallie World a while back. I'm sure they are sold at most any grocery or Sam's kind of store. The sheets are cut in 1/3 increments so you can tear off a whole towel or 1/3 of a towel. I find the third size just right for my vaping clean up needs. Plus they fit in my pockets quite nicely. They are very absorbent. {Am I starting to sound like a TV ad yet?} . I really like them because I don't feel like I'm killing so many trees. The third size sheet is perfect for me and I'm sure others would find them handy if they have not already tried them.
The only problem I have is with my wife. I have a tendency to "forget" to clean out my pockets of frogs, rocks, sticks, and other "treasures" I accumulate during the day. So sometimes, I'll hear some yelling in the laundry room and I know she has found one of my towel stashes in a million pieces in the washer or dryer. I feel bad about it and try to help clean up my mess, but the damage has already been done.
Bottom line...... just wanted to suggest that you might want to try the Viva towels. I think you will find that your roll of towels lasts much longer and you aren't lacking for cleaning up power.

Yeap Horton those or Bounty select-a-size are a good choice. I started buying them in bulk when I started vaping!

My hubby is always leaving receipts in his pockets. Even though he washes his own work clothes, I'm the one that gets stuck cleaning out little bits of paper from the dryer.

That happens to me about once a week and it does make a mess!

I always buy the select-a size, have a roll sitting on my desk ;)

 I use paper towels at work but an absorbent rag at home (ya know - the ones you don't put fabric softener on). Anywho, it seems like you are learning the drill rather quickly Horton. Love your posts, too, btw. They make me smile! Hope you plan to come to VapeStock in June 2011!!! Would love to meet you and your wife.

I'm not allowed to do the wash anymore. I think it is because my wife has underwear with some really interesting colors. I'm not a clothes sorter when it comes to washing. I pick up a pile of clothes and in they go. Guess that is not proper "protocol". I tried to tell her that she now had "unique" undergarments, but that did not fly with her. Gosh, at least I was trying to help her out. I always manage to somehow get myself in the doghouse around here......lol. But I got even with her...... I won't let her mow the lawn. Hmmmmmm... now that I think about that, I may have come out on the losing end of that little domestic skirmish. Oh well, being out in the sun helps keep my "dome tan" in shape.

Sheri and MaMa..... sorry, did not see your posts as I typed this one. Glad to know you know about the select a size towels. I also like the idea of the absorbent rag you use at home, MaMa. Think I have some of them.... will give them a go. And thank you for your kind comments about my posts. I'd much rather insert a little humor in a post and hopefully have some fun as well. I am planning on coming to VapeStock next June. I will enjoy meeting you too.

T-Shirts.
Like the one I am wearing now.
Juice stains mostly above the left pants pocket.

My ex ruined one load of my dress clothes. Wasn't a happy camper at the time either. Told him that he was only allowed to wash his clothes. The next time he did it (was a few YEARS later) he was washing his winter coat and forgot to take his cell phone out first, lol!

lmao! ya'know! I USED to go through metric tons of paper towels. I use the select a size Bounty in bulk and YES, I adore the select a size option!! Have used for quite some time.

Since I switched to the LR306 atomizer with the drip tip - I have not leaked A DROP!! I didn't even realize it right away either, until I read a post that made me realize I hadn't had to mop up a leak in awhile. Now I'm over 2 months leak/mop free - I am saving a TON of paper towels ;) compared to pre-306LR days! I still carry one in my purse but...I never need it lol.

Kudos to Cisco - not only do those attys rock my world BUT now you're saving trees too dude and I'm a very thankful tree hugger

Sidenote: My husband is FORBIDDEN from touching my laundry...after he shrunk some of my bras a few years back grrrr! Never again and he was so proud 'helping' OMG! I got even, I taught both husband & son to do their own damn laundry. I wash sheets, towels and my own....the rest - they are on their own - It works GREAT!

Wow.... think I may have stirred up a little wasps nest here. I promise from now on to sort the laundry, always check every pocket, use my paper towels judiciously, wash and wax the washer and dryer weekly, and never mention laundry on IVC again. And let's not even talk about ironing clothes. That subject now scares me....lol . At least I know I'm not alone in my laundry purgatory. The other possibility is joining the nudist colony near Hudson beach..... that would solve a world of problems in one fell swoop. I'm gonna go hide now......

You know, for some reason every single article of clothes I've ever owned has been able to be washed together, without separation and with much testing of that fact when I was on my own for a while. This went on for years.

For some reason the first time I ever did laundry with a female, I managed to tint every article of clothing of mine a slight pink color. Needless to say that was a rather expensive mistake.

Now my separating of clothes is this: separate my wife's into colors (if I even do hers, sometimes we just do our own laundry) and strip out all of mine and do it all together without separation.

Works great. Once every couple of months I'll take all the whites and bleach them but the only real noticeable thing that happens when I do that is they come out with a 'bleachy' smell and look about the same. Maybe I'm just clueless when it comes to the care of my clothes but everything seems to work out just fine when it's just my clothes and no one else's.

As for the paper towel thing, I usually use one of those 1/3rd sheets, fold it up into a square and take it with me where I go. Lately though, the 306's haven't been leaking at all for me and I've been leaving them out of my 'go bag' to take out with me.
