Not really a big deal, but never found a "platinum" ego I liked. So when in doubt.....scrap that stuff

Scrapped off the black coating with a normal knife and now I'm doing it to all of my bats and cones, this is the platinum look I wanted. Sand paper is a bad idea, it messes up the metal but just a knife and like 10 mins and poof sexy!

I like to make my batteries look all pretty too - I use fingernail decals and nail polish to give my batts different effects. One is all sparkly-silver, another has flowers and butterflies spiraling around it, one has skull & cross bones (LOL), and another has purple glitter & stars.

Yes, I have way too much time on my hands - but it's all MistressNomad's (from ECF) fault.

That is awesome! My newest thing is a charm, which spends more time off than on atm. My OCD does NOT approve of that thing dangling from PV.

Maybe a bit of fingernail polish type bling is needed?! Hrmmmm..............

The good thing about using nail polish is that if you don't like the effect, you can take it off again with nail polish remover. One of the batts I did came out kind of "overly-glittery" so I stripped the nail polish off and did it over. The glitter nail polish works best on black (or mayyyybe other colored batts?). I tried it on my metal PCC and bleh, just didn't look that great.

Also, if you use nail decals, be careful if you also use a PCC. I bought some decals that were like little jewels, and thought they wouldn't stick up TOO much, but they did and my batt didn't fit in my PCC so I had to take them off and use flatter decals. After I put the decals on where I wanted them, I just went over the whole batt (and decals) with clear nail polish. That holds the decals on and also gives those batts a pretty shine.
